Gift Box/Bag…card attached makes for quick gift giving!

May 1, 2010

Hey friends…it's a miracle…another post! This time we've got an adorable Gift bag/box thingy…with the card attached to the side…I was reminded about this great idea a couple weeks ago at the Stampin' Up! Milwaukee Regionals…we always come back with such FUN ideas…this is my own rendition of this project:

and what is SO COOL…no need to decorate the bag/box! The card does the decorating for you! You use one of our transparent envelopes, with the flap cut off, to make the clear pouch to slide the card in!

You can see the "pouch" in this view with the card out…

Here's all you need to do to make the "box/bag"

Get TWO sheets of cardstock, 8 1/2 x 11

Cut off 1 1/4 inch from the 11" side so that the piece is now 9 3/4" wide by 8 1/2" tall

Score 2" from each side, and 1 1/2 inches from the bottom, snip bottom flap corners, fold sides.

Using Sticky Strip (some day I will give item numbers and prices, and actually make ordering easy for you, right now…let's just learn some stuff…you can email me if you need to order supplies)

so…using Sticky Strip…the sides will be adhered to each other "flush"…so the 2" sides of the front piece will completely overlap with the 2" sides of the back piece. Once that's done, you fold up the bottom flaps and adhere (these will not overlap completely) and you have a box/bag! Punch holes and add ribbon handles… I used Circle Circus Stamp set to make the card and stamp the corners of the tissue…When you buy that stamp set in May, you get designer brads FREE…there will be a link somewhere on here once Amy gets that done…so look for it and you can check out the list of brads and stamp sets available in this May deal. I used Rich Razzleberry for the box, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry for the card, and the Filigree brad was one of the FREE ones you can choose when you buy CIRCLE CIRCUS…a very versatile stamp set!

TIP for making the pouch: Cut off the flap, then if you want to punch the 1/2 circle out of the top so it's easier to get the card in and out…PLACE A PIECE OF CARDSTOCK BETWEEN THE TWO LAYERS OF THE ENVELOPE and then punch through all layers…if you just try to punch the cello envelope, it "gets chewed up"…kinda looks like Mary Jane Cat Stamper did it with her teeth!

So…those weren't perfect instructions, email me if you have any questions, or need to place an order!

again…not a link…use your typing skills…

WOO HOO! I'm doing it…

I'm a blogger…

a left handed, ADD crazy stampin' blogger…with a goofy cat that likes to help!

Come back…I don't have any more scheduled…but I have plans to add more…i promise!
