Gift Box/Bag…card attached makes for quick gift giving!
May 1, 2010, Leave a Comment »
Hey friends…it's a miracle…another post! This time we've got an adorable Gift bag/box thingy…with the card attached to the side…I was reminded about this great idea a couple weeks ago at the Stampin' Up! Milwaukee Regionals…we always come back with such FUN ideas…this is my own rendition of this project:
and what is SO COOL…no need to decorate the bag/box! The card does the decorating for you! You use one of our transparent envelopes, with the flap cut off, to make the clear pouch to slide the card in!
You can see the "pouch" in this view with the card out…
Here's all you need to do to make the "box/bag"
Get TWO sheets of cardstock, 8 1/2 x 11
Cut off 1 1/4 inch from the 11" side so that the piece is now 9 3/4" wide by 8 1/2" tall
Score 2" from each side, and 1 1/2 inches from the bottom, snip bottom flap corners, fold sides.
Using Sticky Strip (some day I will give item numbers and prices, and actually make ordering easy for you, right now…let's just learn some stuff…you can email me if you need to order supplies)
so…using Sticky Strip…the sides will be adhered to each other "flush"…so the 2" sides of the front piece will completely overlap with the 2" sides of the back piece. Once that's done, you fold up the bottom flaps and adhere (these will not overlap completely) and you have a box/bag! Punch holes and add ribbon handles… I used Circle Circus Stamp set to make the card and stamp the corners of the tissue…When you buy that stamp set in May, you get designer brads FREE…there will be a link somewhere on here once Amy gets that done…so look for it and you can check out the list of brads and stamp sets available in this May deal. I used Rich Razzleberry for the box, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry for the card, and the Filigree brad was one of the FREE ones you can choose when you buy CIRCLE CIRCUS…a very versatile stamp set!
TIP for making the pouch: Cut off the flap, then if you want to punch the 1/2 circle out of the top so it's easier to get the card in and out…PLACE A PIECE OF CARDSTOCK BETWEEN THE TWO LAYERS OF THE ENVELOPE and then punch through all layers…if you just try to punch the cello envelope, it "gets chewed up"…kinda looks like Mary Jane Cat Stamper did it with her teeth!
So…those weren't perfect instructions, email me if you have any questions, or need to place an order!

No Tag,Flower Fancy Scrapbook Pages…Mother’s Day…or any day!
April 28, 2010, 3 Comments »
We made these pages in our April Scrapbook Clubs, along with the pet pages – my clubs make 4 pages each month…it's a GREAT way to get a scrapbook actually DONE…
No photos on these pages yet…I'm ready for Mother's Day this year! This type of layout is my customers favorite…lots of "empty space" to put their photos…leaving the pages like this with no precut photo frames, they aren't limited to specific photo sizes when they go to add their photos…
Click on the photo for a larger view… Notice the "trellis" – this was made using the "Lattice" die for the Big Shot…one of my favorite new toys in this year's catalog! I LOVE my Big Shot! Flowers were made using the two step stamp set "Flower Fancy" which is on sale through April for 20% off…Click the Order now button to get connected to my online Stampin' Up! store, or email me for help with your order…

It's still not a link…I still don't get that part…

Well…
Here's a not so great photo of a REALLY GREAT PROJECT!
Aren';t they ADORABLE??? But wait…it gets better…get a load of this:
The cupcake holds a gift card! Just pull up the Cherry on top to reveal the gift card! I saw one of these at a local store and I HAD to come home and figure it out! FOUR DAYS LATER…I did it! WOO HOO!
BUT…
REMEMBER how I said…"I'm tired of waiting til I know what I'm doing with this whole blog thing"…"I'm just jumping in"…
WELL… the file that I wanted to upload here and have you simple "click" to get it… I tried…and IT's HUGE…
it has lots of cool pictures to help you every step of the way…
BUT the clincher is…you'll have to email me to get it! Sorry… Hey! It's still FREE for a LIMITED TIME… once I get organized and figure out the paypal button, there will be a small fee involved…it's 13 pages and includes over 50 step by step photos…you don't even have to read if you don't want to!
SO….leave a comment about how much you LOVE THIS CUPCAKE… then email me at glendastamps@comcast.net - put "Cupcake Tutorial" in the subject line…and I will get it to you as soon as I can! (there may be a delay…I've got the awesome Stampin' Up! Cruise next week…but I'll check in a few times!)
Speaking of the Cruise…
Hey cruisers! I'm bringing a couple (well, maybe ONE) sample of this cupcake to the share night on the cruise…so come check it out in person!
Check back in a few days…Mary Jane Watson, Cat Stamper, is working on an awesome 2 page scrapbook spread…ALL ABOUT HER of course! Cute "pet pages" ….

If you don't want to read all this..check back tomorrow for the next post! ..it's a Crazy Cupcake you are gonna LOVE LOVE LOVE! But…if you want to start to get to know me, have a chuckle or two first…keep reading…
So, it's only been 2 and 1/2 years since I started this blog…I figure it's about time I use it. The funny thing is, I keep waiting for MORE TIME…TIME to learn how to post correctly…TIME to learn how to take a decent picture…TIME enough that I can post consistently…and in waiting for that MORE TIME…I LOST 2 1/2 years! SO…this will not be the beautiful blog that you will come to and be inspired by perfectly placed projects with lovely settings and lace backgrounds, etc… this will not be the blog where you can depend on "scheduled" posts…there probably won't be any "make a card Monday" or "Tuesday Tips" or anything that would require me to commit to do this on a regular basis! Those who know me… know I'm left handed…AND have Adult ADD… those two things are lethal when it comes to using the part of the brain that organizes and does things perfectly… and while we're at it …grammar… I have no use for it…so if poor (bad?) grammar bugs you…you may as well move on to the next blog now…
BUT…I AM FUN! So when I finally "get here" I can almost guarantee entertaining posts… and some great projects… they just may not have great photos, or organized steps to recreate… Please give me a chance! Come by a few times in the next few weeks and let's see if I can pull off a few things that will make you want to sit down and play with your stamps and paper and inks!
And besides… "Cat Stamper" Mary Jane Watson has been bugging me to start blogging on this darn blog (who named these things blog…what kind of word is BLOG?) … You'll be seeing some pretty funny photos of this sweet cat all around my stamp room (I think she talks long distance to Ann Clemmer's Stamper Dog, maybe HE'S the culprit that made me do this) So… here SHE IS…getting ready to design a scrapbook page…
BUT…scrapbooking will come later…I promise!
FIRST…I must share a great 3D project with you…check out the next post on Friday! WOO HOO! (oh dear…I just did what I said I wouldn't do…COMMITTED myself for a Friday post! HAH…that's because I figured out how to "schedule" a later post…
so you get this one now… and FRIDAY…you get the CRAZY CUPCAKE…
and if all goes well…there will be a few scrapbook pages popping up next week… now that I've given myself "permission" to post less than perfect (WAY LESS) photos of my projects…you may actually get to see some of them!
